Thoughts And Memories Of A Volunteer

As I sit here this evening, I am reminded of the laughter, love and silliness of last night. Memories of people feeling comfortable enough to share their fears but also at ease enough to laugh. All that we want the Soup Kitchen to be. But as I sit here safe and warm it makes me more determined to help others to be able to have a roof over their head, as I am fortunate to have. For the warmth and laughter to remain with them as they leave us and step back into the cold, I actually found it hard to sleep last night. I felt a sombre mix of sadness and guilt, knowing people were sleeping outside. But I hope to do more. Thank you for giving me the opportunity to do that. XX
