Volunteer Opportunities - Join The Team
At different times of the year and as the requirements dictate, we invite applications from the local community to help us provide help and support to the Newbury homeless via the Soup Kitchen. Based at the Salvation Army Hall in Northcroft Lane, we are open between 5.00pm to 8.30pm on a Thursday evening. Most vacancies will revolve around our Thursday evening opening hours, though some may extend further.

We are looking for an experienced individual to join HAVEN as a Treasurer. Implementing, maintaining and reviewing policies for the financial performance of the charity. Ensuring that proper accounts are maintained in accordance with required standards. Developing medium-long term strategic plans to ensure the charity has sufficient investment through donations to meet the planned development of Newbury Soup Kitchen services. The Treasurer would implement robust and effective financial controls to adequately meet auditing requirements laid down by legislation.

Bookkeeper & Accounting

Reporting to the trustees of HAVEN and fitting in within your own schedule, we are looking for a volunteer bookkeeper to support us. As a financial bookkeeper, we would ask that the role is to keep an official track of incomings out goings so when it comes to filing accounts there is an accurate trail. Overseeing and logging online payment and donation tools.
Someone who wants to join a team, great with numbers and highly organised ensuring figures are presented comprehensively. Set up of SAGE or Quickbooks support and general accounting and bookkeeping.
