World Homeless Day

🌍 What is World Homeless Day?

World Homeless Day is observed every year on October 10th. It was first marked in 2010 as a global effort to raise awareness about homelessness and to encourage local communities to respond to the needs of people experiencing homelessness.

The day serves three main purposes:

  1. Raising awareness of the issues homeless people face, including lack of shelter, food insecurity, poor health, and social isolation.
  2. Promoting local solutions, encouraging people to support charities and services that directly help homeless individuals in their area.
  3. Encouraging collaboration between governments, organisations, and individuals to create sustainable solutions for homelessness.
