Women's Outreach worker - Vacancy
Do you have a commitment to making a difference to women’s lives? Are you interested in supporting women in Newbury & West Berkshire, who are homeless and or vulnerable.
We are looking for a passionate and empathic person to join our team at Newbury Soup Kitchen as a Women’s Outreach Worker. You will be a compassionate, motivated individual with an exceptional ability to build meaningful relationships.
The purpose of this role is to engage and support female clients in Newbury and West Berkshire who are affected by homelessness/addiction and trauma, to help engagement into a safer, more positive future.
We are looking for an individual who has experience of working within the health, social care, criminal justice or other specialist setting, ideally with specific experience of substance misuse issues and who is professional and passionate about supporting women who are vulnerable in a holistic, women centred, trauma informed way, treating people with dignity and respect. You will manage your own case load, supporting women experiencing multiple vulnerabilities and complex needs. This post involves undertaking needs assessment, support planning and delivering rehabilitative interventions which enable women to break down barriers to achieve change. Our services utilise a trauma-informed approach to engage women and address needs holistically including one to one support, outreach, and group interventions.
This is a new post which is part time (2 days) and a fixed term contract for 12 months. £31,000 pro rata. There will be exciting opportunities to develop this role, scoping the extent of the issues faced by our female clients locally, cementing links with key stakeholders, signposting and offering one to one and group support.
We have been developing a reputation locally for the quality of our work and ability to provide bespoke care and support services. We want to grow further and have ambitions to grow and diversify our workforce.
We recognise that employees from different backgrounds bring unique knowledge, experiences and perspectives and we are committed to increasing the diversity of our workforce and welcome applications across all sectors of society, will the relevant skills and knowledge.
