It has been a testing time for the volunteers at Newbury Soup Kitchen. As it is for many we have had to adapt and evolve as the CORVID 19 virus has come to the UK.
As a result of other local charities and organisations closing and changing we have had to extend our services to the local vulnerable and homeless community.
At present we are opening our doors on a Thursday as usual but with a take away service from 6pm. We will be catering for everyone as before with a fresh homemade vegetable soup and a vegetable main dish. We have chosen vegetable dishes to avoid the possibility of potential food poisoning if food is taken away and not refrigerated due to homelessness.
The rest of the week we will be in the Wharf in our van providing Pot Noodles, Greggs sandwiches and pasty donations in order carry people through until life gets back to normal.
We are still requesting donations of Pot Noodles that can be placed through our Amazon Wish list. Food donation bins are at two local Co-Ops and some businesses please see below graphic on the right.
Money donations which are always in desperate need can be done through The Good Exchange, Just Giving and our Facebook blogs. Alternatively you can send a cheque to
