Beccy - Treasurer and Trustee

I joined Newbury Soup Kitchen in October 2022 as Treasurer and Trustee. I had qualified as a chartered accountant a few months prior, and I knew that as soon as I’d finished studying I wanted to start volunteering for this wonderful charity. In my day job I work as a Finance Analyst, and I am hoping my experience in financial planning and analysis can help the charity with accurate cash flow forecasting and project analysis such as cost efficiencies and scenario planning. I love helping out at the food provision sessions too.

 

I grew up in rural Scotland and moved to Newbury in 2017, where I live with my husband and our dog. In my spare time I love reading, going to gigs and spending time outdoors. I am a very active person and love hiking and trail running. I completed a 70 mile ultra-marathon in 2022, and always have some sort of running challenge on the go! I also love travelling and spent a year living in the Basque Country, Spain.
