Emma - First Aider

I qualified as a nurse in 2006 from TVU. I have since gained experience in a verity of settings including the community, nursing homes and school nursing, all within west berkshire. I have completed additional training in managing challenging behaviour, safeguarding, tissue viability, dementia, diabetes and palliative care. I have worked for several years with local GPs and as part of the wider MDT.

I am currently in a fortunate situation to be able to take a career break to fully saver parenting my children and family life. By volunteering as a First Aider at the Soup Kitchen I have felt I am able to utilise my training and experience in a new and exciting way. In addition to providing first aid I am frequently able to informally chat about health promotion and encourage/facilitate our clients to make appropriate, timely use of local clinical services.
