New Cycle Scheme Announcement

Unfortunately Terry from TR Cycles will no longer be maintaining and servicing bikes for us, picking them up and sourcing them. He has been a fantastic support, but in the end we were putting too much on him. Thank you Terry for your help and support, it has been most valuable and we wish you continued success in your business.

From today onwards and with excitement, we are happy to announce that Kelvin Hughes at The Community Furniture Project will be helping us with bikes, white goods and furniture if necessary in the future. The Community Furniture Project have a couple of thousand bikes a year go through their work shop. They repair donated bikes or bikes they have purchased and sell them on or donate them to vulnerable people. We are very excited by our new relationship with The Community Furniture project. Everything is checked out and repaired thoroughly.

How You Can Help

Very simply, if you have any unwanted adult bikes, please simply donate them to the TCFP. Bikes can be dropped off at the Community Furniture Project near Downs Carpets. They are happy to receive any adult bicycle in any condition as they refurbish and sell many secondhand bikes all year round. Bikes requested by Newbury Soup Kitchen for their clients will be given free of charge.

Bikes can be dropped off at the Community Furniture Project, Bone Lane Newbury, RG14 5SS between 9.00am and 5.00pm Monday to Saturday or taken to the Household Recycling Centre at Newtown Road between 8.30am and 7.30pm 7 days a week. Please don’t forget to display your West Berkshire resident permit. Alternatively you can call 01635 43933 to arrange for the Community Furniture Project team to come and collect bikes from you.

This week alone we will be organising two bikes for clients who need them for work. One of them is going to donate his older bike so hopefully it can be used for someone else or at least parts. It is great to see our clients want to give something back to others.
