November 2022 – The vineyard Fundraising Event

November 2022 The Vineyard Hotel and Spa fundraising event with Will Young and Rob Rinder:

The event was a great success with an amazing auction of 14 lots which all raised a wonderful amount of money totalling £19,480 and lots of raffle prizes of a high standard also. Our final net profit was £30,500.

We had a raffle and a fun game of Heads and Tails to win a wheelbarrow of booze which was a lot of fun.  The meal at The Vineyard was sublime and the staff have been so accommodating, nothing was too much trouble.

Will Young our Patron sang and Rob Rinder was our Auctioneer and MC for the evening. I am still pinching myself when I think about our charity set up 6 years ago now and now so privileged to have two celebrities is something I never dreamt of.

We love our work and are committed to striving forward to help more and more with homeless prevention and work with homeless individuals and people generally struggling to cope with daily problems. Our long-term goal is to open a community support centre, to have a one-stop shop with all-around collaborative services from statutory and charities.

I sometimes forget to look up and see the beauty of it, and it is beautiful. I am so thankful for our volunteers and people who help us along the way, between us all we have created something that changes lives, and you cannot put a price on that.

The contribution to the night from volunteer Claire Ambler who in her day job runs her own wedding/events business www.claireamblerevents.co.uk   made the evening a huge success and we are very grateful to her and her team of volunteers who helped on the evening. Our amazing team of volunteers came on board and helped to spread the word of the charity and worked with designated tables to support with taking payments for the auction, raffle and donations. All the Newbury Soup Kitchen volunteers wore hand-crafted corsages made by Kath from feltyflorawoodland on Etsy which looked wonderful. The men wore orange bow ties which meant all our 120 guests could easily find volunteers to speak to throughout the night to ask about the charity.

Will and Rob said it was the best charity event they had been to. The passion, community and caring feel made the evening so much more important.

We are looking forward to more fundraising with Will and Rob to help us with the difficult job of accessing the building of our dreams.

If you are interested in fundraising to help Newbury Soup Kitchen get closer to a building of our own please get in touch.
